Founder’s History
Randall Akkerman first began in 1980 as a helper in the glass industry in Dallas, Texas. He started out fabricating and installing mirrors and shower doors. In 1982 he was installing commercial store front and slope glaze. In 1985, he moved on to service and replacement for insurance companies such as Nationwide, Farmers, Liberty Mutual, USAA, State Farm and Allstate by replacing glass in shower stalls, window panes, insulated glass and store front for about 16 years. Randall then moved to Orlando in 2001 to do service and replacement work in the hotels around Disney and Universal Studios. In 2002 he began installing 3/8 Shower Stalls, heavy mitered glass, Bath Partitions and Handicapped Accessories
The Beginning of Emergency Glass Service
In 2004, Randall founded Emergency Glass Service Inc. Since then, EGS has built working relationships with All In Construction, Amscot Financial, Arbor Lakes Apts., Baldwin Park Apts., Belmont Management Group, Central Florida Contracting, Innovative Realty, Lake Nona Apts., Maxwell Gardens and Maxwell Terrace Apts., Parkside Management Group, Personal Touch Contracting, Randall Lakes Apts., Tiffany Oaks Apts., Town Park Apts., Twin Lakes Apts., University Behavioral Center and Venetian Place Apts. just to name a few companies in central Florida.
